Wednesday/ Maui Day 5

I woke up early today and went to the spa at 9.

They give you a robe and really comfy sandals..

i got a 25 minute massage. (i had like 50 HUGE knots in my shoulders..)

then went to the "relaxation room" that has these way way comfy chairs you can lay in

and look out at the ocean and sip some fruit water.

Then i went into the steam room for a little bit and into the hot tub.

The hot tub is a square tub that has pretty little blue tiles and its only like 2 feet deep.

An asian lady (who im pretty sure she's in my dad's company) was talking to another lady about how this lady called and freaked out at her because she thought she was sleeping with her husband and i heard this huge scandal. it. was. awesome. haha so much for relaxation.. i pretended and listened to it. lucky for me, they left after a few minutes and i got the whole thing to myself =)

After that, i ate some breakfast in the room and went to the pool. Danny went to the gym. I sat by the pool with julie and my mom and some ladies that have known me since before i was born. We gossiped.

Linda Linder is one of those ladies. She lived in Georgia when i first moved there. She is a grandma and is the sweetest lady. I wish she was my grandma. I want to be just like her when i grow up.

I sat by the pool for a little bit, then danny came and sat by me. We lounged then went back up to the room so i could finish my pearl of great price homework.

Then Danny made me walk like 60 miles to the place where we ate dinner the night before at the Whaler's Village.

He ate pizza, we got smoothies, and went to a museum about whaling.

walked 1000 miles back, and relaxed in the room until it was time to get ready for the Luau.

The Luau:

the rest of the trip was just traveling home.

Tuesday/ Maui Day 4

We woke up and went to the gym around 10:30.

We had to meet up with my dad to go on a whale watching trip at 12:45.

We went into Lahaina and ate lunch.

We waited in the heat of the sun by the harbor until 2:15.

Danny and i shopped a little before and got him some sweet sunglasses.

He looks really good in them =).

Whale Watching:

Jef didn't want to come because it turns out we didn't get to go snorkeling.

Julie, Danny and i watched from the bottom deck and my parents were upstairs.

There are about 5-600 North Pacific Humpback Whales right up close to Maui this time of year.

We followed a 'comp group' which is like a female and her "suitors".

We also some a mommy and a little baby.

We saw tons of "flukes" (the backside of the tail) and mouths come out.

The very end was crazy. We lost the whales for a little bit, so we were just kinda going along.. then all of a sudden the whales were like 10 feet from the boat coming up. It scared us way bad haha but it was so cool. We were SO close and they were HUGE.

We got "mugged" by humpback whales. they had to turn off the engine and sit until they left. They told us the female was probably taking a break resting under the boat in the shade while the males were coming up around us. Julie, danny and i saw one come up, then dive down right by where we were on the front of the boat, and it just chilled like 15 feet under us, not really moving at all. It. was. awesome.

and it turns out danny had never been on a boat in the ocean before, or seen whales in real life.

After that, we came back and got ready for dinner. We walked to the Whaler's Village a few blocks away and ate some chinese food and pizza and frozen yogurt. Shopped for a little bit, then came back and went to bed.

Monday/Maui day 3

Danny & i woke up and had to do our homework =(

it took a while.. then we submitted it.

We went into a town called Lahaina with my mom and sister.

Barnes & noble then Outback Steakhouse for lunch

We came back to the hotel.

My mom and i went shopping for a little bit,

julie and jef were at the pool

my dad was at meetings because thats all he's done

and danny went to the gym.

We met up later at the pool.

Danny and i got wristbands and went down the slide and swam

under the waterfall and stuff. The slide was crazy dark.. the first time i went down i thought i was going to die because i couldn't see where it was taking me.

After that, we laid by the pool some more and got some Lava Flows.

They. are. delicious.

The first time the waitress brought them, i forgot to say virgin.. so

they had 2 shots of rum in them. I took 2 sips then asked her.. she was pissed.

I think i got tipsy. but julie and danny don't think so. haha

I got bored laying by the pool, so danny and i walked around the shops

then came back up to the room and watched Mythbusters.

Later that day we went to dinner with my family in Lahaina at

the Hard Rock Cafe and we shopped for a little bit.

Back to the resort, hot tub with my dad and talking on a hammock by the ocean.

Sunday/ Maui Day 2

My brother Jef, my sister Julie, and my parents are here. We all woke up around 10 a.m.

My parents were already at their meetings, so jef, julie, danny and i went to the breakfast buffet

at the "swan court". We forgot to bring our own money, so we charged it to the room. It turns out if cost $38 per person... woops. haha

We went back to the room and got ready for our 1 o'clock church.

Our room has a balcony on the top floor overlooking the ocean. There were a ton of whales jumping and coming to the surface. So Danny saw real live whales for the first time. It was really cool.

The ward we went to was a Tongan one. We were the only white people and it was awesome. They gave us those personal headsets and everything. We sung with the Tongan hymn books and heard some beautiful testimonies.

After church, the superbowl was on so i watched a little bit of it with Danny, then went to meet my mom and sister by the pool. The second i got there, they left me so i sat alone. I think it was the first time i've been by myself (except going to the bathroom) since before Christmas. So i didn't mind that.

We got ready around 5:00 and drove into Lahaina for dinner. There is this awesome family, the Cunninghams that are always on our company trips. They're friends with my parents and i love seeing them, they're so funny and awesome.

We went to Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. for dinner. We also bought some souvenirs, i got a hat and danny got a hat and a shirt.

The food was pretty good. Lots of shrimp. and we got coldstone afterwards and walked around the shops. I've been to this little town and this resort a few times since i was little, it's weird because nothing has changed since i was like 4.

After dinner we came back to the resort. Danny and i watched some tv while my family went to the gym. Then i sat in the hot tub with julie while danny put his feet in. Danny and i layed on a hammock by the ocean and talked and looked at the stars for a while after.

Now everyone is asleep and i am blogging.

... i'm so excited to be here. i love this resort, i love being with my family and danny. and i am going to have a hard time when i have to leave =(

Saturday/ Maui Day 1

Saturday Morning:

Danny played soccer with the African club while i packed and

finished up some homework.

It was the first sunny day the whole week, so after a little bit we went to Hukilau

for like 2 hours.

We left my house for the airport around 4:45. There were slow cars in front of us, so we only drove about 30 m.p.h. all the way around the island to the airport. It. took. forever. But i'm so grateful that Chantal has a car and was willing to take us =)

The airport was confusing because we were trying to find the inter-island section and the right airline. We got to the check-in 30 minutes before our flight left. Luckily they still checked our bags and we were on our way.

After what felt like a 5 minute flight, we landed in Maui.

Dinner at McDonald's and an hour drive to the resort and we were in our room. We decided to go to the gym then sit in the hot tub.

Nothing too exciting.

But our room is really nice, and it definitely feels nice to know we'll be in this beautiful place until Thursday =)

Chang Chang Chaaaangss

This week has been really busy. I have tried to get as much school stuff done as possible before I leave for Maui tomorrow. I got most of it done, but will still have to do some while i'm gone which is a big huge fat bummer.

I am so worried about failing my math class. I probably have like a 50% or less in the class right now. Doing terrible, and its only half a semester credit, so its shorter and its more likely that i can get a better grade, but i still will probably have to take it again.

I am sick of spanish class this semester. It just gets really old having to get into our little "groups of people we don't usually work with" and share our little activity ideas that we wrote down for homework. I just want to use the language. I just want to speak an

d read it, not sit and answer little busy work questions. comprende?

Tonight, Danny, me, Becca, Erin, Joey & Stephen went to P.F. Changs in Honolulu. I'm not going to lie to you, i haven't been there in a while, and it wasn't as good as i

remember. BUT, i had a really really fun time. The drive is about an hour to get there, and most of the road is right along the ocean so its pretty. While i was sitting there eating, it hit me how lucky i am. I was out on the town, in college with just

my college friends, all dressed up and shari

food and having fun.

Then i was in the

bathroom with erin and becca. we were each in our stalls, and the song "i would do anything for love" comes on. Becca says "i would do anything for you guys because i love you" hahaha then we go "we love you too" and erin says "its so funny that we're just sitting on our separate toilets telling each other how much we love each other." we had a moment and it was precious. haha.

then we took pictures and drove back and sang together and it hit erin too. We were singing to "Time after Time" by Quiet Drive and erin told us all how awesome it felt to be all sitting in the car driving with the windows down singing. We all had a lot of fun and a lot of food =)

another song from Matilda came on, and joey and erin ordered a giant chocolate cake. its a sign, i need to watch that movie.

My fortune said something like "simplicity will bring you the most happiness in your life."

It is 1:30 a.m. and i am doing laundry before my trip.

I am SOO excited to go to Maui. Maui is my favorite island, and i've been to this resort probably 3 or 4 times. It is beautiful and i get to bring my fun cute best friend/boyfriend and spend time with my amazing sister, brother, and parents.
