Conference always makes me want to be a better person.. I always try so hard not to daydream and to focus on what i can learn... here are some of my favorite quotes from this morning:
(they are just random and I didn't catch some of the names..)
-Sincerity - Humility - Diligence
-Knowing that our God lives, we can ponder upon heavenly things.
-the greatest gift, eternal life, is to live with our father and our families forever.
-Heart, might, mind, and strength= with all of our being.
-We need to give all the blessings we've received to the building of the Kingdom of God.
-Realize our potential, he knows our capacities and limitations. it is not a requisite.
-it is expedient to be diligent
-He doesn't require more or accept less than we can give.
-Each day we need to be a little better
-It is possible to be happy now & forever
Kent D. Watson:
Temperate in all things;
=exercising self control
=patience in all things
=not lifted up unto pride
=carefully examine our desires
a temperate soul=one who is humble and full of love, self mastery & moderation with increased strength of the soul.
Christ & The Atonement:
"nevertheless, glory be to my Father"
-he didn't yell out in anguish and pain.
His thoughts were not of himself but of us.
Neil L. Anderson:
Come unto him and be spiritually wrapped in his arms.
His arms=
open/outstretched/extended/mercy/safety
lengthened out all the day long.
He said, "I am he that comforteth you."- an invitation to repent.
"repent & i will receive you."
-it is rarely a voice of chastisement but to turn around.
-to be more than we are
-change and feel the happiness
-it becomes a part of us, shaping the way we think and feel.
-the savior is able and eager
-there is no sin that cannot be forgiven... divine forgiveness.
How do we decide on what we need to repent..
humbly petition the Lord, "Father, what wouldst thou have me do?"
the lord tells us in our mind and our hearts.
-we can change or we can pull the shades down on our window to heaven.
-we can still pray, but the prayer lacks faith and we listen to the spirit less.
-we feel like no one understands us, but there is one who knows:
"i have engraven thee into the palms of my hands"
-repentance becomes a part of our lives.
-the sacrament is a way of acknowledging our dependence on him.
-relief and healing will come in the time of the lord.
the lengthened out arms will extend around not just us, but our posterity.
Boyd K. Packer:
-no matter who you are, or what you may have done, you can always pray.
-your mind is in control.
we can have a 'delete key' for our thoughts with worthy music or other uplifting things.
-"study it out in your mind and I will cause that it will burn in your bosom if it be right"
-in temptation there is always a way to escape.
That is a lot.. and that is only one session haha.
